Lake Temagami

Te-MAWG-a-mee is Ojibway for "Deep Water by the Shore".

Lake Temagami

I love this place.

Lake Temagami

With many areas reaching over 50 feet deep within 20 feet of shore, it is a name well deserved. One vacation of the sparkling waves and you'll see why generations of indigenous peoples, traders, naturalists, photographers, painters, poets and tourists have been lured by Lake Temagami's deep clear waters. Majestic old growth pines surround 3000 miles of shoreline harboring over 1200 islands surrounded by majestic pines on Lake Temagami - only one of the many lakes in the Temagami area.

Wildlife and fish (Lake Trout, Pickerel, Smallmouth Bass, Pike and Whitefish) are plentiful on this pristine, smooth blue lake. Some area lakes even support Rainbow or Speckle Trout angling.

Temagami is becoming the "place to be" and one visit is all it will take to see why!
